Society Standards
1. Clothing
Clothing should be made from natural materials (ie wool, linen etc.)
Clothing should have very little visible machine sewing
Clothing should reflect the cultures described by Tolkien and one should use his writings as the primary source for putting together an outfit.
If something about your culture is unclear, try using a historical design or altering a historical design to fit in with your culture.
2. Gear
Gear should be made from natural materials (leather, linen, canvas)
Tents should be of historical design or historically inspired (ie no plastic, no army surplus etc..)
Accoutrements (flint and steel, candles, tobacco, pipe etc.) should be contained in
non-modern containers.
3. Weapons
Weapons should reflect those described by Tolkien.
Weapons should reflect western european culture of the middle-ages (ie no Japanese swords etc..)
The goal of this Society is to represent Tolkien in a plausible way. We strive to give ourselves an experience that goes beyond dressing up in costumes and playing battle. We want to give life to Tolkiens writings. And to have FUN!
